Jonny’s passing certainly marks the end of an era at Whitrigg. Jonny and Jennie were such stalwarts to the community and parish. If the two of them could have invented a 25 hour day, Im still not sure it would have been enough for them as they beavered away, keeping many balls in the air at any one time.
I cant think of Jonny, without remembering the sound of his well sharpened saw bench ‘singing’ well into the night, driven by Jack’s old 35.
Or the sight of his van going off in the mornings to another drainage job, trailing its arse on the road loaded to the gun all’s with you name it. If it wouldn’t gan int then it would likely be Ont roof.
To you Anne and Debbie, our deepest condolences, the Southern family, John Anne & Roderic.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
